Why buy a scooter?

Our scooters are safer than walking if you are prone to fatigue or dizziness or simply cannot risk a fall. The scooter provides a very stable seat. It also creates a larger area of personal space for you so you won't be subjected to careless bumps by other people in busy places.

If poor eyesight is preventing you from driving safely you may still be able to use a scooter. In effect you become a motorised pedestrian.

We offer a range of scooters from a compact three wheeled indoor scooter to a robust outdoor model. A range of handy accessories is also available.

An important feature of our range of scooters is that they are designed to be easily disassembled for transporting in ordinary cars. It means that you can take your scooter with you on holidays or extended visits. With these scooters you have a travel friendly machine.

You need to think about your own lifestyle. Where do you go? What activities do you like to participate in? Are you carrying the cost of a car just to carry your lawn bowls twice a week? These scooters can travel up to 60 kilometres on a single charge. That's about four hours constant use.

Legally your scooter is regarded in the same light as any other mobility aid and you cannot be denied access to a service on account of the scooter. There is no cost to register a scooter and no GST is payable on mobility aids.

Legal Aspects

The State Government Department of Transport requires scooters to be registered. We have all the forms and can help you register your scooter. There is no government charge for registration. You need a doctors certificate which states that you require the scooter as a mobility aid. You must also sign a Statutory Declaration that states:

I will be using this mobility scooter on the footpaths and where the footpath is unsuitable to ride on I will drive as close to the left hand side of the roadway as possible.
I understand that when crossing roadways I will take the most direct route possible.
I understand that the legal speed limit is 7 Kilometres per hour and I will not exceed this.
I will also exercise due and proper care for the safety of others.

Once your scooter is registered, you have become a motorized pedestrian.
Your scooter is not a vehicle. It is a mobility aid. You cannot be denied access or service on account of the scooter.

There is no GST payable on mobility aids.
